Many thanks also for your kind remarks about me and I feel much faltered and I don't worth those good comments. There is, however, one factual error which I have to pointed out, i.e. the donation of $500,000 is not by myself, it is the work of the church. I am only playing a bridging role. My actual contribution is much less. I should be grateful if you would amend this otherwise readers might think that I had actually done so.

I am also very appreciative of the photos you have put onto your website. They are just wonderful.

Ever since the last trip, within one day under your guidance, my knowledge and connection with Hoinan has been increased tremendously. Surely I will try to visit Hoinan in the near future. Perhaps we can make it a program for 8003 for there are so many things to see in Hoinan, perhaps Prof. Lung could make a comparison with Taiwan as both are island off the mainland with similar geographical background. I am not too sure about the cultural background, but definitely different in the political and social development in the past decades

I am also impressed by government's efforts in promoting eco-tourism in Hoinan. This is the area where I wish to learn more. Recently I have made a trip to Yunnan with members of the Geography and Resources Management Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It seems that development of sustainable tourism is an irresistible trend in China. Hoinan could set a role model in this respect.

原來你們已經返回香港了，時間過得真快。明天又是禮拜天了，兩個星期前的那個禮拜，仿佛還在眼前。
抱歉關於捐建的事情，我的表述出現了事實錯誤，應該和李牧師再核對一下的。我會即刻更正。
您說“I am only playing a bridging role”.您能夠將橋，“跨海”連到我們的海南島，已經心存感激了。您放心，我會和李牧師保持聯絡，關注府城新堂的建設，期盼著它落成的日子，能夠在新堂再次聆聽王長老的布道。對于基督教安頓人生的方法，我一直好想探討，這回有了一個可以請教的老師了。

原本想這周來港看看書展，可是不知為何卻不如去年的愿望那么強。或許，除了買書、看書，我更希望很吸引我的人文講座吧。如之前的龍老師、去年的哈金、陳丹青，今年，吸引我的講座好像力氣不夠。我最想聽的是24日，「名作家講座系列 5」林毓生先生：中國知識分子與政治權力的博弈 ；25日，張隆溪教授-靈魂史詩的永恆魅力-《失樂園》。當然，最想去也最怕去的，就是“張愛玲系列”。

有時候事情會很奇怪的，當我正在猶豫是否啟程時，登山隊的秦隊長，又來“請朋友吃飯，不如請朋友出汗”了。于是，22日，書展開幕當天，我卻下鄉了。到了海南西部一個叫做臨高的縣，就是當年解放軍登陸海南的地方，我們來到一個"古風村"。原來，登山隊順著流經古風村的溪流，發現了一處瀑布，在密林之中的一處桃花源。沿著瀑布邊上的一棵巨大的榕樹，我和他們一樣，全副武裝玩起了“崖降”，就是從懸崖上把自己放下到瀑布底。
在這處可以演出金庸武俠戲的山水間，我無端端起了宗教的情懷，想起贊美詩里那些關于沙漠、花朵、溪流的話語。可不是麼？他們亙古就在那里，老是那樣，總是那樣。不是歸人，也不是過客。榕樹，用密密的氣根，緊緊包裹著巖石，歪在瀑布邊上。他們相生相伴，仿佛不可能，卻又好和諧。我覺得，我讀到了一本天地間的好書，滿齒清香。
最后，大家又用隊長給的器械，如蜘蛛人一般，把自己從十五米深的崖底，一把一把拉回崖頂。一直覺得好蠢笨的我，竟然也在大家的鼓勵下，完成了。只是，最后一米，實在沒有力氣了，又一次勞駕秦隊長，把我拉起，如同那年上五指山一樣。
平時缺少鍛煉的我，這下運動過度。回家連飯碗都端不起了。高寶說：媽咪生活不能自理啦@@@

因為寄情山水，而與香港書展失之交臂，我好像給自己找到了一個說得過去的理由。呵呵。其實，真的很想在會展的書海里徜徉，我總覺得，自己如同字，只有和書呆在一起，才自在。
跑不動路，就在家里看書，從研究院借了一本房龍的《太平洋的傳奇》，好看極了。他也談到宗教的話題。看完后，我會寫讀書筆記，到時再交流吧。有趣的是，高寶這幾天也在看房龍的《人類的故事》。這個暑假，房先生會是我家的話題人物呢。呵呵。

問您的太太好。她是很好的基督徒啊，那天，您在布道，她在幫著周圍的人，翻找先知的文字，好耐心。你們，讓我看到了人間的光。
